Pet urine comprises phosphorus and protein, predominantly phosphorus, and these minerals and elements exhibit fluorescence under UV light. If certain cats have low phosphorus levels in their food and drinking water, their urine also reflects reduced phosphorus content, making it undetectable when exposed to UV flashlights.
